The Perverts!!
City had done away with PNE Parade also, we had Queen Victoria Parade on July 01 and we had the bath tub parade. People like Parades!! Then the straights males and females came out to watch it.
Child molesters have been studied and usually found to be perverts who have been unwillingly sexually molested, usually as a child. Very often these perverts drift into churches and childcare agencies, social work and amateur sports organizations for children.
Hockey coach Frost sex charges did not hold up in court. Does this make him not quilty? read this article
The following article it shows that our children are not protected under section 43 Canadian Law this person shows us what Judges will do to our children. This show that your child has no rights at all.

“Our Myopia Contributes to the Sexual Abuse of Children
THE TORONTO STAR – January 19, 1997
A little noticed child sexual assault case that recently made its way through the Ontario Court of Appeal throws a revealing light, in its own way, on the persistent, incurable myopia with which our society responds to sexual assaults on children.
The Appeal Court ruled that a schoolteacher who had sexually molested two pre-adolescent sisters over a three-year period, and later married one of them, was indeed guilty as found. But, on the other hand, because he has “an unblemished record as a teacher” and his “record in the community is excellent,” he presents no danger to others and should be allowed to serve his one-year sentence outside of jail.
On which mountain-top are these judges living? A man who preys on little girls may have hidden his deeds from the public gaze, but, once convicted, is his record still “unblemished”? Are other children at no possible risk from him?
The sexual assault of children is a crime of power and opportunity. Once an adult – and one in a position of trust with children – has breached the barrier and seized an opportunity to molest, all the evidence shows that he is more likely to re-offend than not. It’s disturbing to think that judges could be so quick to smooth over the danger that may be masked by a middle-class veneer.
It’s just this glossy armor of respectability that lets sexual predators triumph over and over again.
On the one hand, the whole country is gagging and choking with fury about Graham James, the hockey coach who pleaded guilty to two counts of sexually abusing young hockey players. So far as I can tell, sports fans are enjoying a highly pleasurable paroxysm of rage and disgust against pedophiles. On the Internet, they’re vying with each other for the most snarling, over-the-top maledictions.
On the other hand, while all this sound and fury is going on, most of the commentators are rushing to limit the damage.
“I sure hope this doesn’t rub off on all coaches,” one nervous coach told a radio reporter, and his self-concern was echoed on every side. Worst of all were the parents: one woman on Morningside practically swooned about the “outstanding” types who coach hockey, insisting that the only possible and necessary defence is to talk openly with your children about the dangers of sexual abuse.
Another parent who is also a coach swore that “hockey is the most important institution in Canada.”
Get a grip, people. Hockey is a game, a big business, a pastime, a way to sell beer – it’s not sacred and it is not equivalent to the Canadian identity. Scores of Canadian boys have been and will be molested by coaches because adults think hockey is so damned important that the whole structure of it is unquestionable.
Adults linked to the hockey world must have turned away from James’ victims, ignored the signals, refused to listen, because they had a deeper allegiance to the game, and to the authority of other adults, than to the kids.
You can urge youngsters to “tell all” till you’re blue in the face, but most kids know instinctively that a respected adult’s word will always have more weight and credibility than any child’s accusation. Some parents, as we’ve seen, will go to almost any lengths to exonerate and defend the minister, the priest, the teacher, the choirmaster, the coach, the rabbi, the policeman. Children know this. And in despair, shame and self-defence, they will keep their silence.
Of course, if you are one of those parents who genuinely values, honors, and respects your child as much as you do the church or the hockey team, you may indeed be entrusted with difficult truths.
But you would definitely be a rare bird. Children are powerless, and we as adults are enthralled by and deferential to power. Children see this every day and know what weight to give our smarmy little lectures about abuse.
We don’t seem to learn much from our endlessly repeated cycles of revelation and shock. No matter how regularly the predators bob to the surface – a cantor in Halifax, a defence department computer engineer, the Christian Brothers of Mount Cashel – we’re always astonished.
When will we stop being “shocked” and start scrutinizing our own values to see how we ourselves help put children at risk?”

A recent incident on Davie Street shows how gay-bashing can result from a simple exchange of derogatory words. Read article

I am at loss for words for this on this.
The Gay Pride Parade stands for all those who have been beaten up in the past and who are current and future victims of hate crimes. The parade is a stand to rise above the hate, and to still show who they are without fear, and with pride for who they are.
Shutting down the parade would in no way educate those who hate, it would only empower them more, by giving them the satisfaction that they won, but the issue is that it’s not a game or a race to be won (original had “one”). It’s an extremely large group of individuals that continue to not need to travel in numbers for personal safety.
If anything, the Vancouver Pride Parade should be doubled, have 2 of them, one in the summer and one in the winter.
In showing that they can survive against all oppression and hatred, they are only showing that there is no way that they can have anything to do with the bible or the devil or religion at all, sexuality is not a belief system, it’s purely sexuality and nothing else.
You are right that, “Being different is not a crime!”, but you are wrong that backing down and giving up will create change.

The reason to stop the Gay Pride Parade because more people are getting hurt. I do not care if It was done five times a year. I just do not like people who go after people who are different and hurt them or even kill them.

Oh my goodness, If this is a serious website then I am losing faith in the people of Vancouver.
I live in the downtown east side and would love to have a conversation with you in crab park to confirm this isn’t a hoax.
Did you think before you wrote
“How many of those Jews who went to their deaths would speak up today for those women?”
How offensive is that? You should quit while you’re ….. well, whereever you are.
October 17, 2008 at 2:14 am |
Well the joke is on you….. and nobody else.
It is nice to know that there are people who live in the downtown east side.
To answer your question: “How many of those Jews who went to their deaths would speak up today for those women?” It sounds like you are a person who hates women, if that so I forgive you.
A person (male or female) who loses their life because of no fault of their own: it could be a street person in DTES or somewhere else in Vancouver; I believe in the death penalty when it is a useless killing. Example: “A Street worker”.

wow, was that necessary!
obviously you know nothing of hitler or the holocaust. or anything about anti – sentism. people are diffrent, learn to accept that.. isnt that what canada is all about? diversity. stop trying to kill our traditons of culture. because they are soo many cultures in canada and we as citizens should learn to appreciate them all. i am a vancouver born citizen and my family backgorund is canadian! i accept foreigners and all types of religons or ethicnity. second all, why are you trying to protect us. we can protect ourselves… people want to attack us then so be it… they are the ones who will lose in the end. as a person running for mayor dont you think there is way more issues that need to be dealt with other then a parade?? like the downward fall of our economy??? ooo and i bet you never even thought of how much money the parade generates and how is boosts our tourism. sounds like you are just a person living in the past! this is 2008! and this is vancouver! dont like it!!! move

i have a question also, are you a jew or something? cause all you ever talk about is nazi – germany this, jews that blah blah blah. are you from germany! did you know that not only jews were killed but homosexuals, the elderly, sick people with disabilitys, jehov witnesneses and many other innocent people where killed in concentration camps. and not only did he do that but he had specific camps for specific groups of people.. and he even labeled them with things they had to wear. just to refresh your memory! but again! as a person trying to be a mayor!!!!!!!! does this little history lesson have anything to do with issues in our city! are your not aware that most people in our country come from third world countries! and places where they couldnt make a living or being abused to practise there rights as human beings! i remeber i worked with a phillipino lady who changed my life. i will never forget what she said to me. even in the poor here are rich! are you are aware that this world still has concentrations camps. i think you need to stop focusing on yourself! and i also think its funny now that we speak of it how you are hating against a specific group but then soo smpyathic towards jews!! we all suffer.. dont matter what ethnic, what religon!! GET OVER IT

It was unthinkable what he did to 20 million adults died and 2 million children. Which 2 million children where kill by a Jew Judge.
An other 4 million walk away from mental hospitals and concentrations camps. But these people never came to Canada or USA but ask the British Judge for them to go to Israel which this did happen.

I guess ally you do not get the point. You are a women barking up the tree there is nothing in my statement that I talk about a war which has nothing to do with you in the first place. It is a statement what I knew about others who know me it is for them. I am not going to hold your hand kid: life can be very short.
I will let the Vision increase your cost of living by 10 % then you will be happy.
You have an axe to grind. But it is not me so get over it.

Alley, don’t waste your time on this website, unless you’re drunk and looking for a good laugh. Your time would be better spent poking your eyes out with a rusty fork. As well, it would be less painful.

I completely agree with you on this issue. I can’t even begin to imagine the countless gay and lesbian individuals who, after having had their photos taken at the parade, were targeted and brutally murdered. I’m sure they will have to re-name the Pride Parade the ‘Procession of Death’ if it continues.
I live in the West End, and I hear stories daily of multiple gay bashings, followed by the placing of an individual’s photo over the beaten body. The photo is ALWAYS from the Parade. I am afraid to go near the event, for fear that I might be the next target.
I haven’t seen carnage like this since those who were targeted in the Bathtub Parade and the much maligned PNE Parade. Very, very sad indeed.
I wish you luck in the upcoming election, as you present the most unique political views that I have ever encountered. I am sharing your views with my friends.
November 1, 2008 at 4:29 am |
My friend if I can call you that. Over three years ago my friend is gay and I am straight were eating in a nice place. So I know there are nice people but there is also men who think in groups there are better than anybody else. That makes things bad.
November 3, 2008 at 10:37 pm |
As a Jew and Vancouver resident I am horrified at your position. Canceling the Gay Pride Parade would do nothing get to the source of the prejudice.
Should The High Holy days be also canceled in the event there is anti-semitism?
Please.

At the very least we should ban the float with all the shirtless gay guys in sailor pants and sailor hats. I’m not gay, but seriously, these guys have such fantastic physiques. It really makes me feel very bad about myself and the fact that I’ve gained a few pounds in my 30’s.
November 7, 2008 at 5:06 am |
If a person gets hurt for he / she makes a statement of their life should you or I RK want that to happen.
Mac becuese you do not look that way any more the girls will go after you anyway. Mac all that physiques is for old gay men which they are looking for.
November 8, 2008 at 11:12 pm |
Mr. Bur
I believe in you. You can save Vancouver.
These gay people need to be stopped…so that these straight people can be stopped…
…I don’t know what else to say…this is the weirdest website for mayor I’ve ever seen.
Sincerely,
A gay man in his twenties

Thank you very much for your in put.
Just maybe other people will have the same view
July 27, 2009 at 3:57 am |
thank-you for your in-put every body has a view that include me too. All I add is there should be child law which as long men are in charge it will never happen sorry to say. We elect MP’s to pass laws for protection but these males are not self-interested in the well being of our children that is my view.
